USPS recently unveiled their newest solution for businesses to target customers using direct mail in their Every Door Direct Mail™ program. The U.S. Postal Service® understood the need for businesses of all sizes to connect with customers in a more targeted and relevant way. Users of this program can target customers in specific geographic areas by ZIP Code, neighborhood, or delivery route without the time or expense required to compile a list of the names and addresses of everyone in that area.
To erase the pains of maintaining and compiling a database of customers, the Every Door Direct Mail website contains online tools that simplify the mailing process. Firstly, the website captures your information, and then presents tools that help you define the area you want to target. Users can decide if they want to reach city addresses, rural addresses or PO Boxes, as well as defining residential, business, or a combination of targets. One of the best features is the ability to view the addresses selected in a map format that allows you to carefully designate the area you want to reach.
Once you click submit, the tool provides a count of the total addresses in the defined area and how much it will cost to mail them. There is even a tool that prints out the correct forms you will need to take with you to the Post Office when you drop off the finished piece to send. If the message on the mailer is compelling enough, such as offering a special rate or a coupon, then Every Door Direct Mail will provide a means of reaching all your targets within your reach.
