Metallic inks are popular and attractive, but plan your job carefully if you are inclined to use them. Keep these tidbits in mind:
• Metallics perform well on gloss paper but lose their metallic look on uncoated or matte paper.
• If the piece has a large coverage area of metallic ink, it should be varnished for protection. Metallics are chalky inks and will tend to rub off.
• They do not perform well if the job will be run through a laser printer. The ink will tend to come off on the rollers in the laser printer.
