MORE CHANGES IN USPS REGULATIONS TO COME!

As of January 28, 2013, there will be three new postal regulations that will go into effect.

  1. The first change is that open bottom ended flaps will now have to go Non-Machinable and Non-Automated.  This will increase the price by roughly $.13 each.   To save money, make sure there are no open flaps on the bottom of your piece!
  2. Intelligent Mail Barcodes will be mandatory on all mail pieces. This includes return mail.
  3. Due to Intelligent Mail Barcodes, all windows of window envelopes will have to increase in size to accommodate this barcode.

We know it’s a bit early to break the news, but it’s important that you keep this in mind as it can affect the design of your mailpiece.  Better to be safe than sorry!
