WHAT APPLE’S ANNOUNCEMENT TEACHES US ABOUT BUSINESS

In a tremendous developer conference, Apple unleashed the power of its technology armada.  The main enforcer of Apple’s control over its rivals was the iOS 6, with over 200 new features and major enhancements on its most popular functions such as search and maps.  (For more details, click here)  With these game-changing announcements, the competition and developers scramble to create an attack plan to combat Apple’s newest weapon.
Fast Company makes a clear analysis of the industries quivering in their boots, proclaiming that even big dog Google’s world was just rocked.
So what does this new battle in computing show the rest of the business world?
It shows us that if we don’t stop innovating, our competitors will win the war for stakes in the marketplace.  It may be a simple concept, but it holds true for every business out there, from retail to manufacturing.  It is not innovating for the sake of innovating, however.  It is creating new features and technologies with the consumer in mind.  As a print company, we’ve seen this firsthand.  We are always looking for value to add to our armory of features and expertise so that we can benefit our customers.  Apple teaches us that if you don’t stop creating, adapting, and adhering to the wants and needs of your customers, you will be left in the dust.
